WEB DESK: Nintendo hosted an action-packed Nintendo Direct presentation on Thursday, unveiling an exciting lineup of games slated for release on the Nintendo Switch in 2023 and beyond.

From revitalised classics to fresh installments in beloved franchises, below are the key highlights from the September 2023 Nintendo Direct.

F-Zero 99 takes the racing world by storm

In an unexpected yet thrilling twist, Nintendo confirmed the authenticity of recent leaks regarding F-Zero 99. This retro racing spectacle, with a battle royale twist, is now available exclusively for members of Nintendo Switch Online who can also utilize the SNES Wireless Controller.

Mario vs Donkey Kong reimagined

Nintendo pleasantly surprised its fanbase by announcing a remake of the Game Boy Advance puzzle platformer, Mario vs Donkey Kong. Gamers can get their hands on the revamped edition when it launches on February 16, 2024.

Tomb Raider Trilogy gets a revamp

Fans of the iconic Tomb Raider trilogy will be delighted to hear that Tomb Raider 1-3 are receiving a remastered collection set to launch on the Nintendo Switch on February 14, 2024.

Princess Peach takes centre stage

The previously teased solo adventure starring Princess Peach was unveiled as Princess Peach: Showtime!

In the captivating game, players will join Princess Peach on a mission to rescue numerous stage shows threatened by a malevolent gang. The grand premiere of Princess Peach: Showtime is scheduled for March 22, 2024.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door receives the HD treatment

Continuing the trend of remakes, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is the next cherished Nintendo classic to receive a high-definition makeover, slated for release in the coming year.

Exciting extras: Dave the Diver, Splatoon 3 DLC, Super Mario RPG, and beyond

The presentation also treated viewers to a new gameplay trailer for Splatoon 3’s forthcoming expansion, Side Order, set to launch next spring.

Additionally, a fresh glimpse at the Super Mario RPG Remake, ahead of its release on November 17, was showcased. Fans of Luigi’s Mansion 2 can look forward to its haunting return in an HD remaster arriving next summer.

Ubisoft made an appearance during the event, offering a new look at Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, a 2D action platformer announced back in June. Ubisoft Montpellier confirmed its release date for January 18, 2024.

New indie gems such as Dave the Diver and Trombone Champ have been confirmed for the Nintendo Switch, while Horizons Chase 2 is available for play starting today. With an array of classic revivals and fresh gaming experiences unveiled, Nintendo Switch enthusiasts have an exciting lineup to anticipate.
