Universal Electronics: Q1 Earnings Snapshot

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Universal Electronics Inc. (UEIC) on Thursday reported a loss of $61.4 million in its first quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Scottsdale, Arizona-based company said it had a loss of $4.81. Losses, adjusted for asset impairment costs and non-recurring costs, came to 28 cents per share.

The remote control maker posted revenue of $108.4 million in the period.

For the current quarter ending in June, Universal Electronics expects its results to range from a loss of 25 cents per share to a loss of 15 cents per share.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $105 million to $115 million for the fiscal second quarter.
