Donna Hansbrough, the 68-year-old Lowes employee who was fired for violating the company’s policy to stop theft of goods, was reinstated earlier today.

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Lowe’s spokesperson said Hansbrough accepted the offer to return.

“After senior management became aware of the incident and spoke with Donna Hansbrough today, we are reinstating her job and we are pleased that she accepted the offer to return to Lowe’s. Nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and employees first and foremost. Products can be replaced, people cannot. We continue to work closely with law enforcement to investigate and prosecute those responsible for this theft and violent attack,” the statement said.
