Rosalind (Roz) Brewer has been appointed to the Board of Directors of United Airlines Holdings, Inc. (UAL). Brewer, a highly influential leader with CEO expertise, has consistently been acknowledged by Fortune and Forbes as one of the Most Powerful Women in Business.

Brewer’s most recent role was as the President and CEO of Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc., a prominent player in retail pharmacy and healthcare worldwide. During her tenure, she successfully guided the company’s strategic trajectory and adeptly managed the intricate challenges of the healthcare sector amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Brewer spearheaded game-changing endeavors at Walgreens, placing strong emphasis on fostering innovation, enhancing customer interaction, and broadening the reach of vital healthcare services.
She was instrumental in leading operational excellence and improving customer experiences as the Chief Operating Officer at Starbucks Corporation. Before joining Starbucks, Brewer served as the President and CEO of Sam’s Club, a division of Walmart Inc.
Brewer completed her undergraduate studies at Spelman College, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. As chair emerita, she demonstrates her unwavering devotion to her alma mater, firmly believing in the profound impact of education and striving to empower upcoming leaders.
