MCD to revamp Shanti Desai Club in Old Delhi
New Delhi: Municipal Corporation of Delhi has decided to reconstruct Shanti Desai Club, near Old Delhi Railway Station, by making a double-storey hall with multiple sports facilities. A proposal to demolish the existing structure was approved in a House meeting recently.
The project also includes redeveloping the complex. The club has a gym, swimming pool, a big hall and a huge playground.
Several of these facilities need an upgrade.
“The...administrative approval and expenditure sanction has been processed separately and it will cost Rs 3.3 crore (approx.). To begin with, approval was given for demolishing the existing structure,” the proposal said.
