Home Depot worker splits the internet after posting selfie where she claims she's 'too pretty' to work at the store

A Home Depot employee has sparked an online debate after she posted a selfie claiming she is 'too pretty' to work at the hardware store. The employee, Ariana Josephine (pictured), tweeted out the photo of herself in her orange apron on Friday saying her role as a paint mixer at the chain store in Texas is 'the only job I work at [where] I get reminded I'm [too] pretty to work at.' That tweet soon went viral, with 'Home Depot' trending on Twitter for several days straight. As of Tuesday, it had been viewed nearly 35 million times, earning over 106,000 likes and almost 7,000 bookmarks.

Many of the responses on social media were positive, agreeing with Josephine that she is attractive and respecting her for working while trying to earn a degree in college. But several Twitter users blasted Josephine for her views about working. Shortly after Josephine posted the photo of her donning her work uniform, several other women started posting photos of themselves in their Home Depot aprons, claiming to be fellow employees.

One even said she was a corporate employee. Others commented on Josephine's post asking about the salary and benefits at the Home Depot, while others still agreed with Josephine — including Vashaun Blanks, who wrote: 'I wouldn't go to Lowe's no more.'

Another user, Adam Beezee, posted a meme of someone looking at the results of a lie detector test saying 'No lies detected.' Sonny Blaze, however, said that 'any girl with this mindset is a serious [red flag].'

And a fourth user agreed with him, tweeting: 'Bro, these young ladies need prayer. They seek the attention of others too much. They need to be validated every five minutes.' He also noted that Josephine's Twitter profile says she is a '"follower of Christ," yet her profile photo suggests that she is seeking admiration from men who probably do not follow Christ.'

Famous NBA'er Shaquille O'Neal even commented, though privately. He sent a direct message to Josephine saying 'don't let them people [sic] bother u,' according to Legion Hoops . Later adding, 'have a great day tell all your boyfriends I said hello lol.' DailyMail.com has reached out to Home Depot for comment. In the aftermath, Josephine said people doxxed her location. She wrote on Instagram: 'Y'all turned something innocent into something crazy, and ruined my way of making money by seriously taking the internet TOO far. Thanks for all the nice people I've spoken too and inspired, and thanks to the hate because it's helped me grow closer to God and be more tough skinned.' And on Twitter, Josephine clarified: 'I don't think I am too pretty to work anywhere. I work at Home Depot because it's a decent job that pays [well] while I'm in school.
