Jaipur: A team of department of revenue intelligence (DRI) on Friday arrested two train passengers with an illegal possession of 2.2kg gold worth nearly Rs 1.4 crore. Both had concealed the gold in their shoe soles. They were nabbed after they deboarded a train from Kolkata in Jaipur.
“As the train arrived, we took both passengers into our custody and checked their belongings.After checking, we found 1.1kg of gold, each concealed by them in their shoe soles. Both were arrested by our team,” said an officer of DRI. The officials stated that the gold is of foreign country and it is of good quality. “Both were under interrogation to know their links especially where they were to give this gold,” the officer added. tnn
