Salesforce Announces AI Cloud
Bringing Trusted Generative AI to the Enterprise
Salesforce, the global leader in CRM, has announced the launch of AI Cloud, a new platform that brings trusted generative AI to every business.
AI Cloud enables customers to use any large language model (LLM) safely and securely and to apply generative AI across Salesforce’s products and services.
Generative AI is a branch of artificial intelligence that can create new content such as text, images, code, and music. It transforms how businesses communicate, collaborate, and innovate.
But generative AI also faces challenges such as data privacy, model bias, and quality control.
To address these challenges, Salesforce has built AI Cloud on the Einstein GPT Trust Layer, a set of capabilities that ensure data protection, model governance, and output quality for any LLM.
AI Cloud also leverages Salesforce’s Customer 360 platform, which provides real-time access to customer data, analytics, and automation across the enterprise.
AI Cloud offers a range of generative AI solutions for different use cases and industries. Some of these solutions include:
- Service GPT: A tool that can automatically generate service briefings, case summaries, and work orders based on natural language prompts. [1]
- Sales GPT: A tool that can automatically craft personalized emails tailored to customer needs based on CRM data. [2]
- Marketing GPT: A tool that can generate audience segments using natural language prompts and provide AI-driven recommendations for enhanced targeting. [3]
- Commerce GPT: A tool that can automatically tailor product descriptions to each buyer based on customer data and commerce goals. [4]
- Flow GPT: A tool that can create workflows using natural language prompts that trigger AI actions at each step. [5]
- Slack GPT: A tool that can build no-code workflows that embed AI actions with simple prompts within Slack. [6]
- Tableau GPT: A tool that can generate visualizations based on natural language prompts that display real-time progress and recommendations. [7]
- Einstein GPT: A tool that can provide intelligent code suggestions and completions directly within Visual Studio Code. [8]
AI Cloud is built on an open platform that allows customers to use any LLM of their choice.
Customers can use Salesforce’s own domain-specific LLMs developed by Salesforce Research, or they can use LLMs from other platforms such as OpenAI or Hugging Face.
Salesforce also announced that it is expanding its Generative AI Fund to $500 million to support the AI startup ecosystem and foster the development of responsible generative AI [9].
The fund will invest in companies that are building innovative generative AI applications and solutions.
