A massive fire broke out early Monday at a Sherwin-Williams paint plant in a suburb of Dallas

In a statement to Fox News Digital, the company said "Local emergency personnel were on scene and were able to extinguish the fire within a few hours" at a plant in Garland "which manufactures mainly industrial coatings and resins."

Sherwin-Williams said an "explosion and a resulting fire" broke out around 1:15 a.m. local time this morning.

"All employees are accounted for. There were no fatalities," it added. "One employee suffered a minor injury and was transported to the hospital out of an abundance of caution and has since been released."

The Garland Police Department said the city’s firefighters are working a fire in the area of 701 South Shiloh Road. 

"My coworker and I were in our office processing orders when all of a sudden the whole building shook," Dave Casper, an employee of Aston Global, a bathroom supply company located in the same area, told Fox29, describing explosions. 

"Some of the particles from the ceiling started to come down on us. We went outside thinking something hit the building, but when we walked behind our building, we saw this big explosion at the Sherwin-Williams plant," he said.

The company said production at the site is currently "suspended."  

"Once the fire department gives the ‘all clear’ and permits us to access the site, we will assess the impact this event will have on our ability to continue operations at this site and the potential environmental impacts," Sherwin-Williams said. "In the meantime, our business continuity team has been fully mobilized and is developing contingency plans to ensure we meet the needs of our customers."

"We want to thank the first responders for assisting us and we will continue to work with the authorities as we complete our assessment," it added.

There have also been reports of explosions at the facility in Garland, Texas. (KDFW)

"As a result multiple roadways in and around the location are CLOSED," police also said. "Please find alternate routes and expect heavy delays." 

In one video purportedly of the fire on social media, several explosions could be heard.
