Most former Apple employees prefer working for Google, according to LinkedIn profiles analyzed by Switch on Business. Apple tends to hire employees from Amazon, Adobe, and Google, with a particular focus on Intel due to their smartphone modem business acquisition. When leaving Apple, employees commonly join Google and Amazon. Google prioritizes hiring former Apple employees and also recruits from Microsoft. Meta has the highest percentage of employees with prior tech experience, followed by Google and IBM. Additionally, Google employees often join Meta for new opportunities.

Most of the former employees of Apple prefer to work for Google, according to an analysis of LinkedIn profiles in the tech industry. The analysis also reveals that there are people who switch from Google to Apple, but the majority of Apple's employees have previously worked for Intel, Microsoft, or Amazon.
The team at Switch on Business explored employee profiles on LinkedIn for a selection of tech companies.
They first searched for the number of employees currently working at Google (Alphabet), Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, IBM, Tesla, Oracle, Netflix, Nvidia, Salesforce, Adobe, Intel, and Uber.
For each pair of companies, they searched for employees who currently work in each tech giant and previously worked for each other company from the seed list. The team then calculated the count and percentage of current employees at each tech giant who previously worked at other tech giants. The full data allowed them to provide breakdowns of the most common pathways between tech giants.
Apple looks out for talent from Amazon, Adobe, and Google, while Apple employees more likely to join Google
Apple has a tendency to hire employees from a specific group of ten tech companies, including Amazon, Adobe, Google, IBM, Intel, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, Oracle, and Tesla. It appears that Apple prefers Intel employees due to the company's acquisition of Intel's smartphone modem business in 2019, which is in line with Apple's aim to develop its own radio chips.
When employees leave Apple, they are most likely to join Google, followed by Amazon. The top ten companies that Apple employees go to after leaving are Google, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, Tesla, Nvidia, Salesforce, Adobe, Intel, and Oracle.

Google priorities former Apple employees
According to the research, Google prioritises recruiting employees from Apple and also extends its hiring efforts to other tech giants like Microsoft. Google receives approximately two million job applications annually, and around 12,018 individuals with previous Microsoft experience have been hired.
Meta has the highest percentage of employees with prior tech experience at 26.51%, followed by Google at 24.15%, and IBM at 2.28%. Also, 3,363 Google employees have joined Meta for new opportunities.
