Kraft Heinz unveils bizarre pickle, mac & cheese and HOT DOG gummy candies for Halloween - but are they a trick or treat?

  • The company partnered with Frankford Candy to create the gummies
  • They are produced in homage to Kraft, Claussen pickles, and Oscar Mayer
  • Fortunately, however, they still taste like traditional fruity candies

A candy company is giving the Haribo bear a run for its money with its bizarre new gummies - shaped like mac & cheese, pickles, and hot dogs.

The unlikely treats - created in homage to Kraft, Claussen, and Oscar Mayer's most famous foods - will be rolled out by Frankford Candy just in time for Halloween.

But, crucially, they won't taste like the snacks that inspired them - they'll still have the fruity flavors most gummies are famous for

Frankford Candy's director of business, Molly Jacobson, told Penn Live: 'Kraft Heinz Gummy Snack Pack gives fans the opportunity to experience three iconic food brands in a delicious fruit-flavored, gummy candy form.'

Each pack features the name of the food brands, along with their iconic logos, and contains 40 individual candies.

The mac & cheese elbow is a peach-flavored treat that resembles a piece of pasta found in a Kraft box.

The Claussen gummy includes the circular bumps from the crunchy snack.

And the Oscar Mayer gummy looks just like a hot dog - complete with bun, dog, and ketchup, mustard, and relish.

They are made up of ingredients like malt syrup, sugar, and gelatin. They also contain artificial colors of red 40, blue 1, yellow 5, and yellow 6.

The candies will provide competition for Haribo - a German company founded in 1920 that dominates the gummy market.

Haribo is best known for its Goldbears that come in raspberry, lemon, strawberry, pineapple and orange flavors.

They are available in over 100 countries, and Haribo celebrated the treat's 100th birthday in 2022.

Chief commercial officer of Haribo of America Rick LaBerge gave a brief statement on January 1, 2022: 'Haribo is the original creator of the gummi bear, and we're so excited to celebrate the 100th birthday of our iconic Goldbears in unique and meaningful ways here in the US.'

Part of the celebration included the release of limited edition flavors: blue raspberry and pineapple.

They also sold packs of party hat gummies, which were available in all flavors.

Frankford Candy describes its new gummies as 'a great gift, stocking stuffer, Easter basket stuffer, or party favor.'
