Motorola announced the launch of its next budget-friendly smartphone, Moto G14, in India on August 1 -- the same day as Redmi 12's debut in the country. The Motorola phone is already listed on Flipkart and the official page reveals its design and key specifications. The smartphone lacks 5G but includes some notable features, including dual rear cameras, a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ display, and Dolby Atmost-enabled stereo speakers. The Redmi 12 has 5G support. Xiaomi is also rumoured to launch a 4G variant of the Redmi 12 that might compete against the Moto G14.

The Moto G14 will be available in black and blue colours, and the display includes a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. We can notice the volume and power button on the right side of the phone. The rear cameras come stacked inside a transparent rectangular deck to blend with the phone's aesthetics. Motorola has revealed the phone features a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ display, Dolby Atmos speakers, Unisoc T616 SoC with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, and Android 13.

Notably, the Moto G14 will get one major Android update, that is, Android 14. Apart from that, the phone will receive three years of security updates. On the back, there's a 50-megapixel primary camera and a macro camera. The phone will carry a 5,000mAh battery with 20W charging. Motorola claims the phone will provide 94 hours of music playback and 34 hours of talkback time. However, these numbers are based on conservative usage, and the actual backup may vary based on the settings enabled.

Additionally, the Moto G14 includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a dual-SIM card slot. Based on the specifications, we can expect the phone to cost under Rs 15,000 in India. The old-gen Moto G13 is available on Flipkart for Rs 9,499 for the base 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.

Notably, the frame design of the Motorola Moto G14 and Redmi 12 5G is similar, though we easily expect differences in the build quality. The Redmi phone features a 5G SoC by Qualcomm, dual rear cameras, up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, and a 5,000mAh battery. The Redmi 12 5G may cost over Rs 15,000 but likely under Rs 20,000. If Xiaomi decides to launch a 4G variant of the smartphone, it may cost around Rs 15,000 -- the same as the Moto G14.

Motorola's Moto G14 comes days after the company launched its most premium - Motorola Razr 40 Ultra flip phone.
