CUK launches app for hostel admission
Kalaburagi: Now, students at Central University of Karnataka (CUK), need not worry about the hostel seats, as they can download an application on their mobile phones to check the procedures for the hostel admissions and room allotment. Also, the payment can be made through the app.
The CUK has launched a new app, which will help not only the students but also hostel wardens to allot the rooms.
The students can check the days that hostel mess will not be providing the food, via this app and can make alternative arrangements on those days.
Students can also raise issues like lack of hygiene, shortage of water, poor food quality or any other problems they are facing through the app and the hostel deans will check these issues regularly through the app.
CUK vice-chancellor Battu Satyanarayana told TOI: “For smooth functioning and accuracy, digitalisation is very important and it will help both the university and students.” The students will get accommodation facilities before coming to the university, he added. He said the university can manage students’ issues digitally. “Accuracy of the data, monitoring of payment, availability of accommodation etc. can be monitored,” he added.
