Alphabet, AMD, Walgreens Are Winners Today. Its Good News.
Three-fourths of the stocks that make up the S&P 500 notched gains on Thursday. Three stood out: Walgreens Boots Alliance, Advanced Micro Devices, and Alphabet.
They are the top three leaders on Thursday and they couldn’t be more different. Alphabet and AMD are growth stocks or expensive stocks as investors perceive their prices to rapidly expand. Walgreens is a deep value stock, or in other words, a stock that tends to trade at a lower price relative to its fundamentals.
When both growth and value stocks are winning on a trading day, it implies a broad-based positive outlook and suggests investors are optimistic about both high-growth opportunities and the potential for value-driven returns.
