Motorola launches Edge 40 Neo in India with 50-megapixal camera, effective price starts from Rs 20,999

Motorola has launched its new offering in the edge series, the Edge 40 Neo in India. The phone made its debut in Europe on September 14 and since then, speculations about the India launch had been doing rounds on the internet. Now that the phone is finally here, all Moto fans are eager to know more. The phone has been launched in three colour options and two storage variants. It sports a 50-megapixel ultra-pixel night vision camera with OIS (optical image stabilization). The phone is being sold at a special launch price that starts from Rs 20,999.

Motorola Edge 40 Neo launched in India: Price and availability

The phone is available in three colour options – Caneel Bay, Soothing Sea, and Black Beauty. While the Caneel Bay and Soothing Sea are available in vegan leather finish, Black Beauty comes with an acrylic glass finish. The phone will go on sale in India from September 28, 7 PM. It will be available on Flipkart, Motorola.in and leading retail stores including Reliance Digital.

Coming to the price, the 8GB + 128GB variant of the phone has been launched at a price of Rs 23,999. However, for a limited time, the phone is being sold at a special price of Rs 20,999. You can further bring the price down by availing exchange offers.

The 12GB + 256GB variant of the phone costs Rs 25,999. Again, for a limited time, the phone is being sold at a special price of Rs 22,999. With bank and exchange offers, this price can be reduced further.

Motorola Edge 40 Neo launched in India: Top specs

The Motorola Edge 40 Neo comes with an IP68 rating and claims to be dust and water-resistant. Motorola says that this is the world’s lightest 5G phone with the IP68 protection rating. The phone weighs 172 grams and is 7.79mm thick. At the back you get vegan leather finish in two colours while the Black Beauty colour variant has a glass finish. The endless edge design promises a great in-hand feel and a solid grip.

In the front, there is a 6.55 inch pOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate. The curved display also supports a billion colours and comes with 10-bit colour panel. The display has 1300 nits of peak brightness and promises a comfortable viewing experience, even under bright sunlight.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7030 processor. The phone supports Wi-Fi 6e that promises the best speed for gaming. The phone also boasts of cloud gaming, through which users can leverage their phone as a hand-held console and play powerful games right from the cloud. The phone also supports 14 5G bands which is the highest in the segment.

For photography enthusiasts, the Motorola Edge 40 Neo comes with a 50 MP ultra-pixel night vision primary camera with OIS. The secondary camera is of 13-megapixel that has an ultra-wide-angle lens. In the front, there is a 32-megapixel front camera with quad-pixel technology.

Other camera features include Horizon Lock Stabilisation, Video Portrait, Audio Zoom, and Vlog Mode.

The phone also comes with a 5000 mAh battery and a 68W fast charging charger in the box. The device will run on Android 13 out of the box and Motorola has assured 2 OS upgrades and 3 years of security upgrades.
