The most recent Microsoft layoff round was carried out last week and about 276 employees were impacted by the decision.

Several laid off employees took to LinkedIn and shared their experiences. One of these employees revealed how this is her third layoff since the beginning of her career.

Taking to LinkedIn, the woman, who had been working with Microsoft for a year and a half, wrote that she was laid off recently and took some time to gather her thoughts.

"Now that I have gathered my thoughts I am thankful to have had the wonderful opportunity to work at Microsoft and meet so many diverse and talented people," her LinkedIn post reads.

She then added that this was her third time being laid off in her career and that her first layoff was a result of the company’s bankruptcy. Her second layoff, she added, was due to Covid-19.

She wrote, "Unfortunately, this is my 3 time being laid off in my work career. First one was from company bankruptcy. Second time was due to Covid and now from layoffs."

Despite this, the woman maintains a positive attitude and says that she had been blessed on a new journey after every layoff. This time too, she is ‘excited’ to see where she ends up.

She wrote, "However, every time I have been blessed on finding a new journey. It might be nerve racking not knowing the future but I’m excited to see where I end up."

Microsoft employee loses job after a decade

Microsoft has fired several senior employees as well. One such ex-Microsoft employee took to the job-search platform and shared how she lost her job after completing a decade at the company. Yet, there is no love lost as the ex-Microsoft employee praised the company in her LinkedIn post and said that she truly loves it. The woman had been a part of the Microsoft team since 2013.

Talking about her layoff and how the last ten years have been a ‘wonderful ride’, the woman wrote, "I have been impacted by the recent round of layoffs at Microsoft, but what a wonderful ride the last ten years have been. I have learned so much throughout the years from my peers and managers. I truly love this company."

Microsoft layoffs

Microsoft fired 276 people based in Washington, USA last week. A GeekWire report revealed the number of people laid off.

The departments that were impacted include customer service, support, and sales. 66 of the fired employees were working virtually.

Earlier, in January this year, Microsoft had announced laying off 10,000 employees. CEO Satya Nadella had called the move necessary at the time
