Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp reportedly down for thousands of users the US

It seems like in some parts of the world, users struggled to use Meta’s family of apps. According to a report by Reuters, thousands of users in the US are facing issues in using Meta-owned Platforms. As per the outage tracking website Downdetector, users in the region are facing difficulties in using Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp.
The report mentions that about 13,000 users have reported issues accessing Instagram, whereas around 5,400 and 1,870 users faced issues with Facebook and WhatsApp respectively.

Last month also Meta platforms faced a similar kind of outage issue. Meta announced the restoration of services on its social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram, following an outage that impacted thousands of users for over two hours.

Meanwhile, Facebook parent Meta Platform recently launched its Twitter rival app Threads. Within just five days of its launch, the newly introduced Threads app garnered over 100 million sign-ups, as revealed by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a post on the Threads platform. This achievement establishes Threads as the fastest-growing online platform to reach such a significant milestone, surpassing the growth rate of ChatGPT.
Surpassing the record set by OpenAI's ChatGPT, which became the fastest-growing consumer app in history back in January, the app's journey to reaching 100 million users was remarkably swift. OpenAI's chatbot achieved this milestone two months after its launch, while the newly introduced app accomplished the same feat in an even shorter timeframe.
