Experts and nutritionists have been highlighting the importance of healthy eating for a long time, ever since the culture of fast food was set in. With increasing cases of obesity and various health issues witnessed among the younger generation, healthy diets like the DASH and Mediterranean have been promoted heavily.

A recent incident, however, went sour when Pramila Mundra, a certified nutritionist (as mentioned in her bio) shared a post about visiting McDonald's and ordering a bottle of water.

In the post, she criticised the choice of order most people bought at the joint, which comprised burgers, fries and a soft drink.

"As I wait for a bottle of water in the queue - this is what I see MOST people ordering. No Wonder overweight, obesity & most metabolic diseases are on rise. I realise we have come very far away from REAL FOODS," Pramila Mundra wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Pramila Mundra, an X user, triggered a wave of criticisms from people for her post.

While the post promoted healthy eating, it triggered a flood of criticism from people online, who questioned the appropriateness of the nutritionist's expectations since she visited a fast food joint.

An online user pointed out how Pramila Mundra was putting people on a guilt trip for buying fast food at McDonald's.

"You were trying to buy a bottle of water in McDonald’s while guilt tripping people who are ordering McDonald’s food at McDonald’s? Why this Kolaveri D? Although I truly believe in healthy living, still this attitude of nutritionists towards guilt tripping people needs to end," the user wrote.

Another user mentioned, "I respect what you do Ma'am but I just wish to point out that it's just like entering a Bar to buy a water bottle and then cribbing about the crowd drinking alcohol over there. What you do is great and we need people like you. But this guilt trip needs to stop."

A person even questioned the nutritionist's surprise at people ordering McDonald's food at the fast food joint. "You were waiting for a bottle of water in a queue at McDonald’s and you’re surprised that people are ordering McDonald’s food at McDonald’s? Just trying to understand."

A user summed up the post and wrote, "People move out for enjoyment, even they may not be having this stuff every other day. And most of places serve junk food only if you venture out. Healthy eating options haven't become popular at commercial outlets."
